  1. The only way we're going to stop the carnage is to get involved. Here's how you can help. Doesn't it lift your spirits?

  2. Morocco Bama, you can't possibly mean that cynically can you??

  3. Seeing as I'm a cynic by nature, I guess I did, but it's more sarcastic satire motivated through cynical observation and the need to scream as a result.

Do you really believe that voting will bring about the requisite changes necessary to mitigate what you're discussing here? Obama said in his inauguration speech that we will not apologize for our way of life. Our way of life is killing all life on the planet at an exponential rate. What is the answer to 2-2 in that equation? Correct, it is Zero.....meaning nada, nothing will be done by voting. A revolution, peaceful or otherwise, is the only thing that can possibly change the course at this point. The Government, and the governing systems around the world, are geared to protect the interests of the wealthy elite and the wealthy elite have no intention of giving up their positions at the top of the pyramid......and it's the pyramid that's responsible for the destruction of the planet. It's time to squash the pyramid, once and for all, and voting is antithetical to that notion.

  4. I was just kidding! We are way, way past the point where an election will save us. They are all the same, there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats.

Did you watch the whole movie from the clip posted at DOT, Noam Chomsky. I watched, last night. Deeply cynical, and terrifying.

here's the comment I left yesterday at CP

... maybe Dick Cheney pulled Obama aside during the transition and reminded him of what happened to JFK.

Consider the billions and billions of dollars at stake, the phony oil wars with the uncounted deaths, and ask, why not?

Regarding the prediction for people to deny and ignore, I highly recommend the documentary about Noam Chomsky (for those who haven’t seen it),

“Manufacturing Consent…Necessary Illusions…Thought Control in a Democratic Society” which begins with this quote from John Milton in 1642:

“They who have put out the peoples eyes reproach them of their blindness.”

Get some popcorn and watch it here: http://video.google.com/ videoplay?docid=-5631882395226827730#

  5. You scared the hell out of me, Gail. That was good....really good! Got me. It's rare to find someone on the intertubes with whom you so viscerally connect. You are one such person of a handful I have come across. It's one of the things I cherish per the poem you posted.

  6. Why thank you Morocco Bama. And thank you for reading, and commenting.

Always beware of Poe's Law, especially on the intertubes. Without voice inflection and facial expression, it's easy to get the wrong impression!
